We are excited to let you know that our board has voted to pursue a 2021 Spring season. With that being said, there are some important changes to this season.

At this time, registration is only open for kids with a birth year of 2012 or older up to the 8th grade.  This is the group that plays in the MAYSA league (Madison Area Youth Soccer Association).  MAYSA’s deadline to join their spring season is February 1.  Registration for our younger players will open at a later date.

The MAYSA season will start May 5 and go until June 28.  This is a month later than usual. It will be played only on fields and in areas allowed by local municipalities and school districts.  At this moment, RVSA is not permitted on the fields between the middle school and elementary school.  IF THIS IS THE CASE WHEN THE SEASON STARTS, we will be practicing on unofficial soccer fields on green space in local parks and all games will be AWAY, in municipalities where competition is permitted.

We have adjusted player fees to the minimum required to sustain a season.  We are doing this because there are so many unknowns and we feel some soccer is better than no soccer.  Your registration fee covers WYSA & MAYSA (insurance, registration, scheduling, administration), referees, field maintenance, jerseys and equipment.

For full transparency of our Spring 2021 plans, it’s important that we clearly outline the following:

  1. We have adjusted the price of registration to account for the minimum cost needed to have a team.

  2. No late registration.

  3. No financial aid.

  4. No refunds after the teams have been submitted.

  5. Season is currently planned for a minimum of 1 practice/week with anywhere from 1-8 games. Field availability may impact our ability to provide any more than this.

  6. COVID restrictions will be adhered to and enforced by coaches. Masks shall be worn during practice and games. It should also be noted that we will make every effort to ensure our opponents also wear masks during the games, but this has not been addressed by MAYSA and we cannot guarantee this will be the case.

We will continue to assess and adjust if local precautions are lifted. We are looking forward to seeing players back on the field this Spring. Please note, teams that are built for the Spring, may look different than previous seasons (could include blended ages), and will likely be rebuilt in the Fall of 2021.
